Weddings, like fashion is a very trendy and cutting edge industry.  Brides expect you the planner or vendor to be knowledgeable about what is unique, current and cutting edge, so that they can “wow” their guests with fun, inventive ideas, themes and schemes.  My goal with this seminar is to provide you with a plethora of information regarding what is up and coming for our industry so that you can impress your clients by knowing what is current and over the horizon, and not let them settle for a cookie cutter “last season” wedding.  We will look at colors, themes, entertainment, food and perhaps other new and innovative ideas.

Margie McCaffrey is the Director of Weddings at the Peppermill Resort Spa and Casino and has been in the wedding industry for over 10 years.  Margie is also an active member of Weddings of the West, the National Association of Catering and Events and the Association of Wedding Professionals International.  Margie received her certification as a Professional Certified Wedding Consultant in 2005 and is also a Honeymoon and Destination Wedding Specialist. Margie has the opportunity to regularly attend national wedding and event conferences and trade shows where she receives the “latest and greatest” information on wedding and event planning and implementation..

Michael Salogga has quite the eclectic background and is uniquely qualified to be the manager of the Business Resource Innovation Center here in Carson City.  Michael has two degrees from San Diego State: a BS in Information Systems and an MBA in Finance.  His gray hair is from over 30 years of experience in manufacturing, distribution, retail, professional services and non-profits.  He has worked for large recognizable names such as Levi Strauss and San Diego Gas & Electric and mom & pop’s, working directly with the mom & pop.  As a C-Level executive and a worker bee, he has seen how many companies do it right and how many have done it wrong.  His expertise covers sales, marketing, finance, operations and systems.  Originally from the Bay Area, Michael has lived in the big city and in a small town in western Colorado.  His focus in approaching business challenges is one steeped in proper planning, taking calculated risks and having tons of fun along the way.

Randy Bartlett is a professional speaker, DJ, Master Of Ceremonies, Wedding Entertainment Director™ and owner of Premier Entertainment & Video, Inc., a Sacramento based company providing Entertainment, Videography, Photo Booth, Lighting and Event Planning since 1988. Randy has been a writer and featured speaker at dozens of professional conferences, including Mobile Beat, American Disc Jockey Association, DJ Times, Association for Wedding Professionals International, NACE and numerous regional conferences and private workshops around the country.  He continues to serve as an original member of the Board Of Advisors for the WED Guild and was the 2011 President of the Sacramento Chapter of the ADJA, and the current chair of the ADJA/Shriners Hospital for Children Golf Tournament & Gala.

He has spent years in the steel, oil, and trucking industries and has worked as a mortician. Now with ActionCoach, working one-on-one with business owners to help them achieve a balance both personally and professionally is a key priority for Steve. “My background allows me the diversity to connect with business owners at all levels of business, from start-up to million-plus-dollar enterprises.”

She has been a contributing writer for WedLock Magazine and currently serves as the president of Weddings of the West. She has been working in the wedding industry for over 15 years and started studying personality styles for almost as long. She has gone through extensive training including a professional speaker’s communication seminar based on the personalities, as well as the PersonalitiesTraining Workshop but it is her in the trenches experiences in the wedding industry that makes her uniquely qualified to teach this seminar.
